ActiveSocial.com now running Active Social 1.8 Beta

Just a quick update on Active Social 1.8. I've just installed the first beta for Active Social 1.8 on activesocial.com. We still have a few more things to clean-up, but I wanted to start testing performance and security testing. I have enabled the new journal security options which you should see with each journal tool.

Hopefully you will also notice some improved performance as well.

Tomorrow I should be posting the final API documentation along with some sample code.

I think the feature is great, but the implementation is not so great. The average user will not figure out they have to click the lock. Is there no other way of implementing it so it's fool proof?

It's exactly like Facebook and completely optional. How would you suggest making it more foolproof?

I have created a mockup, it's posted on ActiveSocial.com. The post button should change text based on the permissions, also see the text next to the lock.

Good work. When will the version 1.8 be released? I want to buy the suite, but I dont want to buy version 1.7 and update to version 1.8.
