    Hi:

I'm struggling to understand how to make the whole verified registration process work properly.  I have created a community role called ACTIVESOCIAL_COMMUNITYROLE and assigned that to the community role in the AS admin screen.  The Member role is set to "ActiveSocial_PreRegistrionRole" which is a role that is not permitted to do anything.  I have also set the DNN admin screen to "Verified" for the registration type.  The problem I have is that the users are still not being forced to be verified before they are allowed to login to the site.  In fact, as soon as the AS sign up process is completed, they are logged into the site directly to their profile screen.  I'd like to prevent all logins and access to secured pages before the verified registration is completed.  What am I missing?

    Thanks very much.

First, the member role, is a role that all users need to belong to in order to use Active Social. It does not really need to be used to restrict permissions, it is just a base role.

The community role is the one that you will need to use to restrict access. You can go to the module settings and make it so that users who are not part of that role can not view a module (or page). You can also display a text/html module that explains why they are not seeing it, and make that visible to users who are not part of the community role.

The Active Social verified registration is a two-step registration. So the users will always be allowed to login. This is the first step. The second step occurs after they come back and enter the verification code, and are added to the community role.

You can go so far as to block a user's own profile page when they are not verified, but there is not much they can do besides posting items to their own journal. Other users should not be able to view/friend a user that is not part of the community role yet.

Thanks for the explanation ben. I'll try some of the things you suggest and see if I can get it working the way I want.

    Thanks again.
