    • Active Social Version: 1.9.1
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.1
    5.6.2 and 1.9.2

    I guess I should have submitted this to Support. I posted on another forum.

    If you look at my site you will see on the journal filter that some journal types don't have icons. I have selected an icon on creation and then changed it by selecting a new icon from the sprite image. Is that what causes this issue? How can I correct this so that all icons display.

    And I noticed that not all icons that are in the image sprite are available to be selected. How do I make them available?

    I can not reproduce this. I am able to select all icons, and change the icon on journal types without it disappearing.

    Please see this post for more information on how the icons are created, selected and stored: http://www.activemodules.com/active...stom-icon/

    I can select the icon in the control panel and it shows up in the control panel. But it obviously is not showing up on my Community Summary. I am using the Social Summary view straight out of the box and the icons are working sometimes and then just go away and don't come back. I can try to change to another icon and they are still gone.

    I have studied the db tables and css. I have used Chrome to inspect the elements and they are showing the correct values like class="icon cart" but nothing is showing up in the image.  I have changed an icon in the CP and the changes are reflected in the db and in the html that is output on the page. I did have to do an app restart in Host to get it to reflect the new icon class in the html.

    I can see that when I hover over the journal type that it is recognizing something as the background and changes my cursor type. If it wasn't such a pain to go in and recreate the custom journal type and new keys, etc I would just try that.

    There has to be something that is causing this. Any ideas on what I can investigate?

    Has anyone else ever had a case of missing icons?

    And since they are missing from the Journal Filter list they also don't show up in Journal entries. Is that a clue?

    Did you see what I mean by looking at my site?

    And I have to reiterate how great it would be to be able to sort the custom journal types in the CP.

    Upon closer inspection it appears that a few of the css classes that exist in the controlpanel.css do not exist in the module.css. Specifically:

    div.amsocial .cart {background-position-96px -48px;}
    div.amsocial .rows {background-position: -112px -48px;}
    div.amsocial .tags {background-position: -128px -48px;}
    div.amsocial .videos {background-position: -144px -48px;}

    Thanks so much Ben. And just so I know I am not crazy, did you edit the reply that had the answer? I can swear I only saw three originally? Then I went and put them into the css and went back and there were four.

    Also, there seems to be some in the module css that are not in the admin css. Do they need to be copied over? Are you going to go through the list and ensure that both are correct?

    I am still not sure why the issue persisted after I tried to change the icon back to something else in my effort to resolve this. Is there somewhere else information about this is written that caused the issue to persist?

    There are quite a few icons in the sprite image that are not included in the css. Is there a way for you all to get this corrected or updated?

    Is there any way to edit the post title to correct my spelling of journal since this would be a good post if someone searched on it.

    FYI, when I tried to set this post as the Correct Answer it hung up on me and I had to leave the page and come back and it was then selected. Not sure if that is an issue or not.

    Yeah I performed a ninja-edit when I saw that I missed one.

    As far as I could tell they were all in the controlpanel.css. If they weren't they would not even show up on the journal template editor.

    The issue persisting was most likely a browser caching issue.

    I am not sure if all the icons were intended to be displayed, but including them would just use the steps I linked above.

    Edited.

    It shows as "Accepted Answer" to me, not sure what happened there.

    OK, I will see which ones in the sprite that I want to add and update them. I have a few extras that I want to add as well.

    Here is one issue of a cache mismatch. Not sure if anything can be done about this.

    I just updated one journal type and did a browser refresh and noticed that the icon changed in the journal summary but not in the journal filter. Is there anything code-wise that would allow both of them to update based on the same parameter...whatever that parameter is. I know I can do a restart now, but once I get my site launched I won't be doing restarts at will. Of course hopefully most of these types of decisions like icons will be made by me before I launch.

    Thanks for correcting my spelling and for solving this issue. I was starting to think that I was crazy and must have done something wrong to have caused the issue.
