    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.1
    Hi:

I have installed updates (v.1.9.2) and verified my journal, member and profile settings to "everyone."  However, when I test with four different users the activity (unless it is a group that has been started) only appears on their friends social summary.

Problem:  Even though "Everyone" has been checked to see all members status etc, user can only see friends.

Problem: After the update we installed today, status changes only intermittently (not every time) in the users' profiles when they change their status.

    Any suggestions?

When you say that "Everyone" has been checked, which setting in particular are you referring to?
What setting do you have selected on the Journal page of the control panel under this section: "Set Default Journal Entry Security Options Available to Members"

I am not aware of any issues regarding the Status field updating. Are you getting any javascript errors when the page loads? If you refresh the browser window does the value change to the most recently posted status?

    Hi Ben:

    We fixed the first problem.

As for the second: Does the status only change when the user updates their status when they are in their profile page? It always works when status is set there but if the user updates their status in the Social Summary page then it doesn't change the status in their profile. Is this how it is supposed to work?

I have confirmed that the status is not being updated when a post is made from the Summary. I believe this is not intended, and I will let the developers know it is happening.

I seem to be able to post a status from the summary page with no issue.

    AS 1.9.2
    DNN 5.6.1

I have the am posting the status with 'Everyone' selected and it is working ok....haven't tried with the other options.

You can create a status post via the summary, but it is not updating the message that appears right below your username on the members list and profile page.

Another component of this is that AS is asking us to set the journal status to Default and yet when you do, and do not explicitly set the scope to Everyone for example, it goes out as Private. But.. when you set it to say Friends Only as the default then the Summary starts filtering out all posts. Very frustrating.

I do not think that has anything to do with the original post author's issue.

I cannot get private to be removed from Set Default Journal Entry Security Options Available to Members list. Any Ideas. I hit the X and it comes back.

    Hi Ross,

In the future, please create a new post for a new issue.

    Anyway, try these things:

Make sure you are running the latest version of the module (1.9.2)
Set the admin skin to the DNN Default Minimal Extropy. This is to avoid any potential javascript issues.
Check the DNN event viewer and see if there are any error messages.
Restart the application from the DNN Host Settings menu.
