Hi we're trying to use the points system within our site but cant find where points are stored, if in fact they are - are they just calculated at the application level and if so is there any way to use them / a token outside of the applicaiton? thanks |

Points are calculated by the application based on replies, topics created, reward points, etc. |

Is that adjustable? Can we set the value of each activity? |

Ben can you be more specific. I know points / rewards can be a big part of a social site. But I don't see it being used anywhere on AM or AS. Are the points being used to determine the Top Contributors on the site? You don't show points but you do have a list...and I am happy to be on it. Any additional details that you can provide or ideas of use cases would be great. Thanks. |

Yes, when you enable points on the community settings page, you can expand the sub-options and assign how many points a user gets per activity. |

The RewardPoints are points that you can give to a user via the Admin Settings tab of their forum profile. |

Is there anything in the works to integrate additional features, like a store front, or the ability for users to use the points for certain items... could be roles, or could be integrated with some additional things.. |

Hey Ben - I'm not finding this option. Do you have a screengrab or a specific step-by-step that can get us to the sub-options you're describing here? Thanks, - Jeff |

Active Forums Control Panel > Settings > Points = Yes After you have enabled that, click the yellow [...] icon to the right of the Points option. |

Ben, when I give a user reward points as you described above, the points are not being added to the user's points total and rankings. I've tried adding them to their profile via the forum and active social and neither will stick. Points are enabled in the settings. Am I missing a setting someplace? Fred |

I'm referencing points. Currently I cannot add reward points via the admin side of a user's profile nor can I add and save a user caption. Once I exit their profile after saving, both disappear. While I was testing I had both posts and total points displayed in the Postinfo template and both were the same. I also looked at the database table and the points total was 0. Points are enabled in the forum settings. I am able to add the reward points via the database and obtain the proper ranking I desired in the user's Postinfo profile. I still cannot add points or captions via the user's profile. |
