    • Active Social Version: 1.9.1
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.1
5.6.2 and 1.9.2. Iif you are going to ask for this information, can you update the list to have all the available versions?

This is another post that I think I should have posted to support so I can get some feedback.

How does the journal comment box work? I am trying to figure out why it shows up sometimes and not others. Can only Friends comment on some items? If you could tell me how it is supposed to work I think I might be able to figure out if it is working correctly on my site or not.

Should it be included in templates for custom journal types?

The comment permission is based on the setting that the user has selected on their My Settings page as "Who Can Comment".

There was a bug in previous versions where the comment view permission and comment write permissions were not saved correctly, and it caused some unintended behavior (being able to see the comment entry box, but not able to pot a comment.) As far as I know this has been resolved though.

If you wish to enable comments on a journal type, you will need to add [AS:CONTROL:COMMENT] to the journal template.
