Hi, I'm trying to setup a feed, followed the instructions, but can't seem to get it to work. Here's what I did:

Logged in as the admin for AS
    Control Panel
    Select "Feeds"
    Click "Add Feed"
    Enter the feed ( i used http://www.topix.net/rss/city/mammo...kes-ca.xml )
    Click "Get Feed"

At this point, I see a green check mark next to the feed, but then nothing else happens, and my screen gets stuck, I can't even x out of the window.

Am I doing something wrong here?

    Thanks,

    Brian

That feed seems to be find and I was able to import it with Active Social. What version of Active Social are you running? What browser are you using?

    AS1.5.3 in both FF3.5.9 and IE8.

There is also an error on the main control panel page, that may or may not be related:

    Will,
I am also only able to see the initial URL for the RSS Feed. The green tick image displays to validate the feed, but nothing else displays.

I have the Control Panel > Feeds > Edit Feed working in 1.4.1, however 1.5.3 does not display the feed config properties.

Will / Ben, let me know if you can not replicate this and I will provide you with access to our sites.

We are running DNN 5.2.3 with XHTML skins.

    Thanks

Ben are you also getting the 'asModal' is undefined javascript error? If so, please create a help desk ticket, I will need to send you some files.

The files provided by Ben solved the asModal error, and after installing those I could reach the . But I am still not able to display a feed, even though it appears I have successfully added a feed. I've tried half a dozen different feeds, but nothing. It allows me to add and configure the feed, I can see the feed (at least one of them) in the dnn schedule, but still nothing is displayed anywhere on my site???

I'm pretty sure this was resolved in the help desk but wanted to share a few things for anyone else that comes across this thread.

    1) There is an option to create a feed and set the Owner as "Site". This isn't supported yet and I apologize for the confusion. A feed must be assigned to a Profile or Group.

    2) If your site is running in Medium Trust you may have problems with importing feeds and sharing links. You will usually see an error in the scheduler or event log that says something about WebPermission or Security Exception.

    3) It's always a good idea to import the feed from the profile or group first. When you add a feed from the Profile or Group journal it will be imported immediately. When you add the feed the control panel it will be added to the scheduler.

    4) If you are still having problems, go to activesocial.com and try to add the feed to your profile. If that fails then we will need to take a closer look at the feed.
