    • Active Social Version: 1.9.1
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.0
    Hi
It is my first time to install and setup Active Social in my DNN site.I saw a error message in my DNN's login page after I start using the ActiveSocial, the message is displayed as A critical error has occurred. You have been redirected to this default Login Page because the Login Page set for this website does not contain a valid DotNetNuke Account Login module, or the permissions have not been set correctly. When I click the Login link again, then it backs to normal

How can I avoid this error message?

Thanks for the help in advance

    Hi
If I follow the steps stipulated in the http://www.activemodules.com/active...tup-guide/

    (1) When I click the Sign up button inside the Active Social's Login extension module, it will bring me to the Social Members > Social Profile >, but not the expect Sign up screen

    (2) If I click the Sign up menu item on the top bar directly, it will show me the Sign up screen. But when I fill the fields of the first screen and click the Next button, it will create the user account but will then bring me to the home page but not the expect next screen to finish the registration.

    (3) If I click the Sign up menu item on the top bar directly, it will show me the Sign up screen. But when I click the Next button directly without filling any fields, it will bring me to the home page but not the expect validation error messages.

    Thanks for your helps

    (1) When I click the Sign up button inside the Active Social's Login extension module, it will bring me to the Social Members > Social Profile >, but not the expect Sign up screen

If you are already logged in that is what will happen. Make sure your settings in DotNetNuke under Portal Settings are setup according to the details we provided in guide. The user profile page needs to be set up to point to the sign up page.

    (2) If I click the Sign up menu item on the top bar directly, it will show me the Sign up screen. But when I fill the fields of the first screen and click the Next button, it will create the user account but will then bring me to the home page but not the expect next screen to finish the registration.

This usually means your permissions are not set properly on the page or that you didn't setup the settings properly based upon the guide.

    (3) If I click the Sign up menu item on the top bar directly, it will show me the Sign up screen. But when I click the Next button directly without filling any fields, it will bring me to the home page but not the expect validation error messages.

That is the intended behavior to prevent issues with spam bots.

I too faced this issue and one setting that I was overlooking while setting up ActiveSocial is to setup "user Profile Page" to "Sign Up" page.
While in the guide, its shown as "User Registration/Profile Page", in the DNN site settings page, these two are two different fields and we usually end up setting only the User Registration to Sign-up page and either leave the profile page or set it up to userprofile page.

Please set up both these fields to just point to Sign-up page and the issue is resolved.

Even after the above reply from Will, just by over looking this simple issue, I wasted around an hour in solving this. Hope this post will save the time for others like me.

The only thing that can cause this issue is having the Login Page in the Admin Site Settings set to a page that does not include a DNN login module. Adding a DNN login module to this page will resolve the issue.

"Doh!" Cockpit error. Forgot to change page security settings - page was admin only - must have looked at it 'n' times too, sigh... Thanks for a fast response regardless.
