I can't seem to get the default journal summary to be that of only the message of a members friend. This is very important for the community I'm building.

The Default Journal Entry Security = Friends Only

Options Available to Members = Community, Friends Only, Private

I've read several post and tried everything and nothing works. I still get the jounal summary of all members.

One note to add. I did have the "Default Journal Entry Security" setting to community at one time. Because of this would all previous post be shown and only the newer post be shown to "friends only". Hope this make sense?

Changing that setting will affect new journal items only, it will not change the permissions of journal items that were previously created.
