Is it at all possible to add comments to photos on the active social summary page.

By default, it is not. But you can modify the Journal Template to display comments.

1. Open the Active Social Control Panel
2. Click on Journal
3. Click on the word Photos, in the list of Journal Types
4. Click the templates tab.
5. Click Summary
6. Paste this near the end of the line of html, right before the < /table > tag.



7. Click save.
8. Exit and view the summary.

You will still have to make sure your comment permissions are configured correctly though.

Thanks for that tip Ben, it worked perfectly...I have always wondered why users could not comment on photos by default.

Also, will these comments be displayed in the album and vice versa? Or the comments made in Journal stay in Journal and comments made in albums stay in the albums?



They do not cross over. I wish they crossed over

No, unfortunately the comments are separate. This is commenting on a journal item, but the other comments are on the actual picture in the gallery (if that makes sense.)

Since you said unfortunately, I guess you agree that this is a limitation. Are there any plans to improve this?

I, of course, do not expect it soon but it would be nice to see this in the tracker. 

As this is the support forum, I can really only comment on what is currently possible.

You are free to create a post in the Feature Request forum, but I personally do not know what version release this would go into.
