    Hi,

Whilst setting AS up intitially, I created a test group and among other things, I added a test event.

After a couple of days I decided how I was going to set it up live and then deleted the test group. Then I created the final groups, one of which has the same name as the deleted one (mentioning that in case it has any bearing on this issue).

When I view the events tab of that group as the group owner, I can create and see new events, but there is also an old event sitting there that I cannot get rid of.

I'll insert an image below showing what it looks like. The upper event is a new one, the lower one is the old one. I can delete new ones by clicking on the red X, but the old one won't go - The X is there, but it doesn't work. Also of note is that the old event displays some raw tokens instead of data.

I've examined the AS tables in the database to see if I can find this event anywhere, but failed.

Hoping someone can tell me how to get rid of this?

    AS 1.9.2 DNN 5.5.1

    Regards
    Rob

    I can not reproduce this.

I created a group, then created an event within the group. Deleted the group, and the event was deleted along with it. Recreated a group with the same name, and the event was still gone. Not to mention that the new group had a new GroupId.

In your image, which of those two events is the one from the previous group? The second event (birthday) is not from a group, it appears to be a User event. It should not be displayed in that tab, but this is a known issue.

Thanks Ben, like it says, The upper event is a new one, the lower one is the old one.

I've no idea how it got there other than that it was created before the group it is displayed in even existed. The scenario I described is what I was doing prior to this item showing up - I was trying various features out using the test group. I added and deleted albums, status messages, links and events and so on.

I'm 99% certain I created the dead event as the test owner of the test group. The fact that it is a 'Birthday' is simply because I selected that at random when creating it.

What I'm keen to know is where I can delete this item in the database. I'm sure it's in there somewhere. The site is only just live and only has one further test event, so I should be able to find it and remeve it wiithout any damage.

Please let me know if you know where these are held. I'll have another browse through the tables as well in the meantime.
    Regards

I've had another close look at this and it appears that the un-deletable event is in fact created by a user rather than the group and is displaying in the group's profile. This fits with the bug you've mentioned, and that I can also see happening in another thread here.
So we'll just wait for the fix.

Just in case these posts ever get approved, here's the solution for anyone else:
The relevant data for the dead events is in activesocial_Journal... all good now.
