Today a member on my site posted on their journal.  We're friends in the system (auto friend feature) and while I can post on his journal I cannot comment on his earlier post.  If I post on his journal he can comment on my post.  I've double checked the settings but can't find anything specific to comments on a journal...just journals.

What do you mean you can't post?

The text box doesn't appear? It appears but you when you submit nothing happens?

Any javascript errors or anything in the event viewer?

Ben, thanks for the quick response. This is about commenting on his posts. I can post fine on his journal (as stated) but cannot comment on any of the posts HE placed on his journal.

No js errors and I'm logging in as a regular old user.

Does the comment entry box show up at all? If not, have your friend check My Settings > Journal Features > Add Comments and see what it is set to.

It does not show up. Is there a way to set this globally? Seems odd that it's turned off by default. Can't seem to find anything in the CP.

It should not be turned off by default. It used to be, but shouldn't be now. Perhaps this is a user that has been around since an old version.
