- Active Social Version: 1.8.3
- DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.2
When a user updates Display Name in 'My Account' section, and clicks [save], the change is not kept. If I update the display name through the DNN profile, the change does stick. AS is not updating the DNN profile upon saving.
Is there a setting I'm missing, or is something broken?
Thanks very much,
Rob

Is it possible that you have "Require Unique Display Name" enabled, and are trying to add a duplicate display name? |

No, I don't have that checked. I read through all the other forum posts, and made sure that wasn't the case. |

I should mention that we do, indeed have duplicate display names, and the note "You cannot enable this feature because you currently have 173 users with duplicate display names." does appear, but that's ok because we're not requiring unique names.

Are you updating the account as the user themselves, or with an admin account? Are you not able to update any users? |

The same behavior occurs for all user types, regular and admin, and admin on behalf of regular. |

Are you entering valid data in each field? Are you getting any javascript errors on the page, or any errors in the admin event viewer? |

Hi, Sorry for the weekend delay. I'm just entering a name in the Display Name field with no other changes. I've tried this on multiple users, so I'm certain there are no bad characters in the mix. When I make the change, and click [save], the page quickly refreshes, and shows the new value in the Display Name field, but there is no javascript error. When I click away and come back to the page, the old value shows. Also, the new value never appears anywhere the Display Name value shows up. I checked the event viewer, and I see an entry stating that the user was updated, but there is no error, and there is no reference to Display Name in the entry. Thanks for your attention to this. I appreciate it. |

Also, I'm at DotNetNuke World this week, so if anyone is here, I'd love to talk to you. Thanks Rob |
