    Hi,

When adding captions to gallery images added to the Media tab of groups,  my users are getting this error message - "An error has occurred."

This is the same error that occurs when adding a photo that exceeds the limit set in the control panel for images, so I am making the assumption that the error is generated by exceeding some character limit for the caption length. I can get the error to go away by reducing the size of the text included in the caption field, but when an error does occur it throws up a semi-transparent gray/black box over half the screen where I can no longer click. As long as I can find a place outside of this semi-transparent gray/black box to click I can recover the screen otherwise I/user has to reload the page.

If this error is occurring because of exceeding the caption size, this should be something that we inform the user of and letting them know that there is a limit (giving an option to re-edit the field) instead of generating an error message that doesn't provide any guidance as to what to do next.

Can someone confirm that there is a cap and that the error message is related to this cap please? If it's something else, I'd like to know that as well.

    Thanks.

I can confirm that there appears to be a 255 character limit on the caption field, but I am not getting an error message when I try to save. It just simply truncates the data. However I am also not getting an error message when I try to upload an image that exceeds the filesize limit.

Can you make a help desk ticket for this issue? I would like to take a closer look at the error message.
