    Hi,

is there a setting / variable that would allow users to deactivate their own accounts in AS.

    I've read this post

    http://www.activemodules.com/Commun...fault.aspx

which says that users can unregister in DNN but that I would like that functionality available from AS, most preferrably in the profile somewhere.

    Cheers,

There are not any features available to end users to remove information, friendship status, or other data from Active Social.

You could modify the MyAccount template to provide a link to the DNN unregister button though.

Ben, will this effectively "turn off" their AS profile? In other works will they stop getting emails, notifications, etc from AS/AF if they "de-activate" their DNN account?

It appears that AF notifications are not sent after the user unregisters, but AS is still sending notifications. When the user unregisteres, their email and other information still remains in the DNN Users table, in addition to the activesocial_User table.

Their name does not appear in the Member Directory, or in any of the group members lists, but you can still get to the profile by clicking their name in a journal item.

You can't send the user a new private message (they don't appear in the auto-complete), but you can reply to an existing PM, which sends them a notification.

Thanks Ben. I created an enhancement request around this: http://www.activemodules.com/active...ted-users/
