Hi, I just installed 1.1 and am having all sorts of skin problems. I took some screen shots, which are attached. I tried a bunch of our different skins, but had trouble with each. Do you have some suggestions on how I can make this work with these issues? |

Are you using the active theme? Try the default and see how that works. The active theme does not work with Flex. thanks, Will S |

We tried to make it pretty clear that the active theme requires an xhtml skin. The active theme DOES work with Flex2. |

The groups view issue is easily corrected by going into the control panel clicking "Save" on the Journal Options page. All other items are not issues with Active Social. You may need to adjust the size of your skin. Just to reiterate, the active theme needs to be used with an xhtml skin. |

Hi Will,
Yes, I was using the Active theme. I changed back to the default, and it certainly worked better. I still have problems on the groups page when clicking to view a particular group. The group listing page is fine, but when clicking to view the group it pushes my pane structure out of wack, and doesn't display correctly. I tried this with multiple skins with the same result on this groups page. I am attaching the group list view which is fine, and then what happens when you click to actually view the group.
Additionally.... I want to use the Active theme because it is much nicer looking. I dont understand what it means to not work with Flex?
Thanks James

On the groups view, it is fine when not logged in as any user. It is also fine for any group that is not a private group. It is a problem when the user is logged in, and they part of a private group in which they try to view the specific group. Thanks James |

Yes, updating the journal page did make the difference! I will look into this xhtml skin (Flex2) skin. Thanks James |

Flex2 does not require DNN 5. I was on a site last night that was running it and not DNN 5. The ad on Snowcovered says DNN 4 and 5. |

It also says "To create a compliant site, you need to use DNN5." - not sure what that means. I will tackle the whole DNN 5 and upgrading the skin after I get the new build up and going. thanks |

"To create a compliant site, you need to use DNN5." It means that if you want to use a validator service to check your site that the skin will validate. It's not necessary and has no effect on the site. If I were building a new site, I would only use an xhtml skin. It makes dealing with cross-browser issues much easier. |

thanks It just means... to create a 100% validated XHTML site with flex2 skin, you need DNN5. DNN 4 probably just introduces an issue or two so the DNN4 Flex2 skin won't validate xhtml compliant 100%, even though it's mostly xhtml, and will most likely work well with the new Active Social 1.1 theme. |
