Save Photo & Upload File Problems in Firefox 4, Chrome, Safari
03 May 2011 09:41 AM
There is a known issue with Active Social 1.9.2 submit buttons in certain modern browsers, including Firefox 4, Google Chrome and some versions of Safari. The problem is caused by an HTML5 standards issue regarding the "required=true" attribute. In this case, the attribute is on a different section of the page, but the browser is still trying to force it to be completed before the button will submit the photo/file.

This fix will be added in the next release of Active Social, but in the mean time here are the steps to resolve it.

    1) Download the attached file JournalTools.zip
    2) Extract the contents of the zip to the DesktopModules/ActiveSocial/config/templates/Other directory, overwriting the original file.
    3) Log in as Host and go to DNN Host > Host Settings and restart the application.

*Note* If you have previously modified the JournalTools.ascx file, this may not resolve the problem for you. To resolve this issue, remove the "required=true" attribute from line 156 in the default file.
