Social View Settings

The social view settings interface is available on each different view of Active Social that has been added to a page. Each view will have a different set of options available to it.
- The Sign-Up, Summary and Welcome Center views simply give you the option to change the module to a different view.
- The Login view gives you and additional option of selecting a custom template.
- The five main views will all give you the option of setting the current view as the default for the site. These views are, Profile, Members List, Groups Directory, Group View and Private Messaging.
- Profile View has both of the options, Set as Default and substitute template.
- The Groups View social view settings allow you to select a specific group that will always be displayed in the view. This can be useful to use in addition to a normal groups view, if you have a special group that you would like to display on another page.
- The Groups List view has a lot of options available:
- Columns to display – Controls the layout of the list. Changing the number will change the amount of columns that are displayed across the page.
- Repeat Direction – Changes whether the groups are listed by column (Vertical) or by row (Horizontal).
- Display Alpha Search – Disable this to hide the alphabet bar at the top of the view.
- Display Quick Search – Disable this to hide the textbox and magnifying glass used to search the groups.
- Filter By Category – If you wish to only display one category of groups, change the number to the CategoryID that you wish to show. A -1 will display all categories.
- Filter By Group Type – Changing the value in the dropdown will make the list display only groups that belong to a specific type. If you select a type, then all groups that are created from this view will automatically belong to the selected type.
- Sort Column – Change how the groups list is sorted. Chonologically, Alphabetically or by size.
- Sort Direction – The value controls the way that the list is ordered.
- Template Name – Select a custom template for the view.
- The Member Directory view has quite a few options that make customizing the list easy.
- Columns to Display – Similar to Groups Directory, it controls how many columns are shown on the page.
- Repeat Direction - Changes whether the members are listed by column (Vertical) or by row (Horizontal).
- Layout Mode – Select Table or Flow. Table is more structured and allows multiple columns. Flow require
- Display Alpha Search – Disable this to hide the alphabet bar at the top of the view.
- Display Quick Search – Disable this to hide the textbox and magnifying glass used to search the members.
- Show Online Users Only – Enabling this will make the members directory only display the members who are currently logged into the site.
- Filter By Role – Changing the value of the drop down will force the member directory to only show members who belong to the selected role.
- Filter By Group – Selecting an existing group from the list will make the member directory display only members of that group.
- Sort Column – Select a profile property to use to order the member directory. Some properties will work better than others.
- Sort Direction – Change the direction that the members are ordered.
- Filter – Apply an additional filter to the list, the syntax to use is as follows: ProfileProperty="Value". Ex. Gender="Female" would filter the directory to only show female users.
- Display Template – This textbox can be used to easily alter the sub template used to display each user in the directory. The default mark-up is located in the MembersList.ascx template.
- Template Name – Change the template used to display the Members directory.
