I have UVG 4 integrated with AS but the entry isn't getting added to the Journal Summary. I'm running this on a child portal if that makes any difference.

    Steps taken so far:

    - Generated the key in Journal > Videos > Access Control
    - Copied the key into UVG config > Other Options and clicked Update
    - Posted a new video successfully, but Jounal isn't updated

Anyone else seeing this, or am I missing another step?

    Cheers,

    Steve

Do you have a checkmark in the Summary column on the journal page of the control panel?

It looks like it's because I'm running in Medium Trust. I've asked Pengtsen for a workaround.

Oh, good to know. It would have taken me a while to suggest that.

    Hi Ben -

It looks like there is no workaround because UVG uses reflection for this function. The only alternative I can think of is for me to write a trigger on the UVG table which will run when my videos have been monitored - when the bit field is changed in the UVG table.

Could you let me know if I can use an existing active social stored procedure inside the trigger, or will I have to build the sql myself? It would be helpful if you could post some same data from the activesocial_Journal table for an operation such as this, with some pointers as to what the data means. In particular I need info on the XML structure.

    Active Social Version: 1.9.1.0
    DotNetNuke Version: 5.1.2

I've set this up in localhost (full trust) with the versions above. I've generated the access key for videos and added it to UVG but nothing gets added to the journal and no errors are generated.

Is there a way I can debug this to find out what's stopping the journal entry being added?

Moved this to general discussion so hopefully you might get some additional feedback.

Make sure you have checked profile and summary on the Active Social Control Panel for Journal.

Hi Steven, yes those are both checked.

I ran SQL profiler locally and no AS SPs get hit.

What I'm trying to do is get an understanding of what gets inserted into activesocial_Journal. I need to write a trigger that will be placed on the UVG_Videos table so when a video is approved, a record gets added in activesocial_Journal. I need to do this because this process doesn't work in Medium Trust.

Any chance you could post a sample record with a bit of explanation?
