...the fact that is it out and now maybe they can focus on DNN 6.2 to include all the Active Modules integration. It was really disheartening to read the entire PR about DNN 6.1 and then to get to the bottom and see that it really doesn't benefit me at all as a Community edition user. I was getting really excited when I read all about the mobile features until I realized that I don't get any of that.
I guess if the performance improvements are what they are promoting then that will be helpful. Otherwise, I am just glad DNN 6.1 is out so they can move on to DNN 6.2.
And by the way, Active Social 2.0 release would be really great about now to lessen my disappointment with the DNN 6.1 release.

There is one option If you already have or use Url Master you have your foot in the door for mobile. http://www.ifinity.com.au/2011/10/2...tNuke_Urls I've been using FUP for so long without issue, I've never considered UM, but I may have to consider UM as a viable choice now. The only thing good that came out of 6.1 for CE users is the client side enhancements. Plus the option for 3rd party vendors to create modules from the mobile api and get a few more of my bucks down the line somewhere. |

The client side object reduction is a big one for me. DNN has been bloated when it comes to the number of objects loaded. I've been implementing my own solution using a combination of 40Fingers (for "extra" css file removal) and a rolled my own compressor handler to combine, minify and compress CSS and JS. As much as this helps it's only for the skin and module.css and any module js are left out. This improvement means as module vendors adopt the API page loads and object latency should drop significantly. Other than that...I'm not really a hug fan of mobile "friendly" sites vs the myriad of hybrid options today (PhoneGap, Titanium, Sencha Touch, etc). A mobile size skin and redirection does not a mobile app make. |

Come 6.2 you may be disappointed again! |

I'm finding it difficult to say anything good about DNN 6.1. In my opinion, any positive has been overshadowed by the telerik editor upgrade.
Anyone using scripting in any html module, will find out quickly that the new release strips this out completely- like it not. The module doesn't even have to be edited, its just gone. So any javascript, etc. - just disappears. You can read about it on the DNN forums. Sad but true. |

I'm so glad I decided to move on and forget about DNN/AS, no more disappointments for me. |

OK. What is up? Ben just posted on this thread that DNN 6.1.1 was out and resolved some issues that Jeff B brought up in the thread. You can see in the journal that he posted. So based on that I decided to do an upgrade to 6.1.1. I did it and still seem to be having issues with CSS not loading properly. So I came back to this thread and now Ben's post is gone. Did you realize that maybe the problem isn't resolved and removed your post? Hopefully you can clarify. I think I might need to restore back to 6.0.2.
