What is the best approach for implementing AS with a site that already has a robust menu structure, pages, and page content?

I have a client that has a DNN site with 60+ pages of static content, a dynamic calendar (ECR), and a dynamic blog (Ventrian News Articles with hundreds of blog entries).

What are some good approaches for implementing AS on this site? Should I look at creating a new Root Menu item that has the various AS pages listed as child menu items {www.mysite.com/social/groups.aspx}? OR  Should I think about implementing AS as a child portal {www.mysite.com/[Social Portal]/groups.aspx}?

What are different people doing out there with their implementations for AS?

This was easy. I just added AS to a new page. Let it run the "Standard" setup which created sub pages of my first AS page. Then I rearranged my AS pages to taste.
