I dig the site summary, just trying to figure out what is displaying and if it is controllable.

If I am not logged in, the All Items view shows very little - site feed that i setup for the whole site, and a couple groups getting created. But if I click the Forum Replies item, File Uploads or Photos then I see stuff from private/closed groups.

If I am logged in as a user who is a member of the groups, then i see under All Items all of the stuff - forum topics, photos, files etc.

It seems like the rest of the items should behave the same way the All Items one does - show you stuff if you are friends or in that group, otherwise it should not show it.

Is this a setting I can change? i see - [AS:CONTROL:JOURNALFILTERLIST:2] - is the 2 a security setting of some sort that would fix this?

Any ideas on this? I would like to use the social summary, but I want the private group stuff to only be viewable by people in the those groups - not everyone.

I have the same issue, It kind of makes no sense to have a summary that doesn't show anything, even a group listed as ( Open - anyone can view and join )and with RSS feeds installed.

I have mine working as it should, what I did other than create a few posts and selected Everyone from the Security (lock) Icon, I then went back and made the default post to be "Everyone" for certain posts such as status

This can be found under [Control panel] -> Journal (Journal Options)
    Status:Everyone
    Notes:Friends
    File:Friends
    Photo:Friends
    Links:Friends

I suppose if you wanted to get tricky you could try other variations depending on your needs:

    Status: Everyone
    Notes: Friends
    File: Friends
    Photo: Everyone
    Links: Everyone
    __________________________
    Status: Group Members
    Notes: Friends
    File: Group Members
    Photo: Everyone
    Links: Group Members

    I hope this helps
