Hi,
I am looking for some examples of websites that have been built using DNN and Active Social. It would be really helpful to see a few strong implementations.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers, Corinne

What specifically are you looking for? I think my site is strong, but we don't use all of the AS features. I have some customized features that might be interesting: 1) Badges - See: http://warbeats.com/users/nfx under the avatar pic you should see my badges. Each user can get badges for a variety of reasons. 2) Quick Profile Info - On teh forums, under the poster's name is a blue info icon. Click it and see the popup: http://warbeats.com/Community/Forums/aft/2537/ 3) Custom embed codes. See: http://warbeats.com/Community/Forums/aft/2823 4) Custom "recommend this" - we call it "bombing a topic" see the button above the first post: http://warbeats.com/Community/Forums/aft/2823 5) Custom "Online Now" see the right side bar: http://warbeats.com/Community/Forums/ 6) The "news and Announcements" on the front page is driven by posts in the forums: http://warbeats.com/ 7) The tutorials are also driven by forum posts using the tags and categories to group them: http://warbeats.com/Tutorials/FL-Studio 8) Not visible, but we also integrate some custom programming for other areas with the AS journal to indicate when a user uploads a file or new song for example. |

I think some items might be behind a login. If so use the following user/pass: normal/activemodules |

I have few sites using AS but without any customization. So they are all boring (no wonder they do not have traffic). So I see no point posting my sites here because my websites are not even close to ok.
Yeah, but I would love to see the other customized AS sites. I know Jeff has a great one. Cliff is working on his. Steven has bikeclicks.com |
|
I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
Thanks. |

Thanks for the post. Bikeclicks.com looks interesting. Can you please let me know what the url is for Jeff's site?
Thanks again.

I use it for 2 different profitable sites (one is really profitable at ~70k a month) and about to launch a 3rd.. The recent stuff with AS and DNN has me pissed off one day and fine with it the next but overall the modules are really great. These are paid communities so you cant get inside unless you start a membership but If you need any more information or perhaps a tour let me know. I haven't done as much customization to AS as some, but reuse the posts/journals in a lot of different ways and have very active communities.

Thanks Dan. Sounds great! Are the two sites you are using AS for listed at the bottom of your post? http://www.marathonnation.us/http://www.endurancenation.us/They look pretty interesting. Any chance of a demo account to have a peek at how you've set things up? Thanks again! Cheers, Corinne |

I can't help but plug AuTechHeads on this. I'm pretty proud of our implementation, and virtually all of our 3rd party modules are integrated to Active Social - with the exception of Invenmanager Events and Registration, for which we're still waiting. Active Social is a big part of the site overall. You can visit at http://www.autechheads.com |

You can check out my implementation at www.pokersharkz.net which is a free play Texas Holdem community.
I am using quite a few 3rd party modules with AS/AF such as Dynamic Registration/Login, Ventrian, UMG/UVG and more.. |

Our site is doing well with over 1000 users now. Forums starting to get active. LOTS of customization. Still on AS 1.1 www.mofga.net See sample profile with custom tabs for products, services, and media. http://www.mofga.net/MyProfile/tabi...fault.aspx thanks, Will |

The contact pane is also an XMP module. We have an email module as well that we are going to deploy - allows someone to email the member without exposing their email address. thanks, Will |

Just ran across this site that uses Active Social. Also looks like it's a fairly high traffic site, but I don't think AS has been installed long. About 5mo based on the AS journal paging: http://www.fishingclub.com/Also looks like it uses UVG/UMG, Ventrian NA, and a few other prominent DNN modules. |

Wish I could edit the post and add: On that same site, look at the bottom of the page for the Group Clubs. A lot of those sites are also built on DNN in one way or another. |

Have a look at PokerDIY.com - it uses AS, AF and loads of other modules.
It has a mobile version and widgets too.
We're releasing an iphone/Android app soon to access the poker game map. |
