When creating a status update and twitter is integrated, status updates are showing on twitter when a journal security such as private is selected.

Ideally, whenever a user posts a status update and has their twitter account linked, the only updates that should be cross posted to twitter would be status updates that are set to "everyone". IMHO, any other security setting that a user selects shouldn't allow posting to twitter.

Jeff, good point. I have asked previously about making the twitter connection something selectable at the time of the post, especially for groups. Click the twitter icon to disable (grey out) click again to turn back on. IMHO journal security and twitter should be separated....that said you're idea is a good compromise.

Excellent topic. One immediate recommendation is make sure your users understand the issue ASAP and until a workable solution is implemented through the AS control panel it wouldn't be a bad idea for AM/DNN to update documentation to make sure this is pointed out to anyone using AS.

I've managed to add a tweet button that will post to the journal AND Twitter at that same time, or just the journal with security options. The only downfall is the user will have to be logged into Twitter.
