    • Type of Feedback: Something I want
I have searched this forum for threads of similar nature, but i expect i must have missed them as this is so basic to the social experience.

AF has a sharing facility with AddThis, but AS has no ability to share a thread. My trusted users candidly tell me that they are wanting to start spending less time on fb to make my efforts worthwhile but they are finding it hard to match the ease of spreading awareness. Most of my users are vegan and are natural viral advocates for spreading knowledge. fb makes this easier for them than my AS implementation.

Thus i ask: is the Share functionality in the works for AS? Thank you, drew..

What are you trying to share? I see the purpose of sharing topics, which we already have, but I don't really see how it applies to Active Social. You say it is so basic to the social experience, but I don't see any clear examples. Now, I understand that twitter has "retweet", Facebook allows you to "share" certain items with you friends and LinkedIn will let you "repost" links from your connections. However, each one of these of features cater specifically to their own network and purpose.

Can you provide a more specific use case of how this applies to Active Social?

I speak to fb as the common social experience, and this is the behemoth many of us fight for online time. Sharing is simple but might be circumvented if your Like functionality will be posting a complete journal entry from the original profile to the profile of the Liking user. But the use-case is clear. I can post some thought, link, event and write up my thoughts on it. A friend of mine can read this and feel they want this on their own page, and thus they click Share, write their own words to cover my thoughts and effectively place the important content on their page for their friends to encounter.

On fb, Like only affects the original thread and does not bring the content to your page, thus the need to share. It is all about making it easier to push information.

You say we already can share topics, how? Unless i copy and paste links and text to create a new posting, how? Thanks for any heads-up on something i have missed. drew..
