I've been thinking a lot lately about how most third party module integrations to Active Social are focused on the Profile journal, which can also show on the Summary...but only for friends with permissions to the poster.  At first I thought a lot about connecting group id (or group ids) during the posting process....but a simpler step might be to allow someone to "share" their post from a profile journal item with groups....almost like FB.

were you thinking the ability to select which groups? or groups in general? This might get a bit messy if the # of groups were large unless a user could predefine for herself a set of "Share with GroupX" permission that would then appear in their visibility post security dropdown.

I was thinking about this too. The best idea might be to leverage the ajax type ahead in a "share" textbox. Just start typing the name of your group(s) and we'll fill in the possible answers....just like messaging works with friends.
