My wife suggested, after acting as my usability tester, that we should be able to "pin" or "feature" groups. Those groups could show at the top of the group list and maybe have a slightly different style. I would add the ability to show featured groups in custom views.

+2 - I am hoping this could be somewhat accomplished with categories (listed as a possible 1.3 feature). E.g. setup a category specifically for "Featured Groups" and be able to filter the group list display on that category. If you are using a custom view, maybe you setup a section just for those groups.

This is a good idea. It's also been part of the groups table since the first release, just never completely implemented. We should be able to do this soon.

Is this coming anytime soon?  Also, how would you prevent users from featuring their own groups by adding a category to the group?  Does this imply some sort of security on categories?
