    • Type of Feedback: Something I want
Is there currently a way to order journal types that show up in the list for filtering? If not, this would be great. I like to group certain custom journal types together and if you don't get the order just right when creating them, I don't see how to reorder them.

I think I saw this before in a request, but it would be nice if we could move the journal type list into a dropdown or something that went directly above the journal so we don't loose the horizontal real estate by putting them to the left of the journal.

    a) I am pretty sure they are sorted by the Journal Type Id, but you can not change this number without causing a lot of other problems, so it would not seem that you can rearrange them at this time.

    b) This could be done with some javascript or similar as the list of categories is just a UL element.

or... DNN could update it to be ordered in the Control Panel. That is why I put it under Requests. Add an Order column to the field and a drag and drop ordering capability and we are all set.

Also, a setting to control the listing of those elements would be great. Choose dropdown list or UL so that we have the ability to manage our site real estate depending on our skin and layout.

I agree that it could be added as a control panel option, I was just giving you a suggestion of an easy way to achieve the result, while you wait for it to be added by us. I personally can not say if something will or will not be added, those decisions are made above me.

Has anyone done this or can I pay someone to do this while we wait to see if it ever happens in AS? Now Scott at Ventrian has added a few more events to his News Articles integration. So obviously I would like (need) to group all of the Article Journal Types together...

    Articles
    Article Comments
    Article Ratings
    ...

This just seems like there is a very obvious need to manage Journal Types. I am not a javascript programmer so I need this to be native to the AS Control Panel.

Otherwise, my offer still stands to pay someone to do this.
