One thing that I would like to see is a way for admins to assign either keywords or categories to various groups, and then be able to display a group list filtered by a given category or keyword. What I would like to do with this is just show categories that are "featured" or show categories that have been created by one of our website's sponsors. -JB |

good idea....add +1
It would be great for end users to be able to search by what they are looking for, In several of my projects I need to give members a way to search by what they need (community website, divorce group, etc) |

+2 I'd be able to separate out the fan groups, event based groups, business based groups, etc. That'd be great for my type of site. |

Will is working on a member list by role. I asked if this could be done for group lists too. But a filter by category is intriguing. It would serve the same purpose and might be easier to implement! |

This would be great for me. In the farming community I am working on now, we have 120 farms with a CSA program (see http://www.mofga.org/Resources/Comm...fault.aspx if you are curious). So you might imagine that each farm's CSA would be a group under the CSA category rather than seeing those jumbled in with all the other groups. Likewise under a 'Dairy' category of groups we might have cows, goats, cheese, etc. thanks, Will S |

I'm wondering about both a simple category alongside a tag idea. Category (Team, Club, Hobby, League) Tags (poker, texas hold'em, hearts, go fish) Where tags can be multiples in a group. I also would like to see some sort of geo coding on groups and members. Then we can do things like: Groups Near You Member Near You

Personally, I don't need anything too elaborate. A simple way to get a sub-list of groups based on a property I specify. -JB |
