    • Type of Feedback: Something I want
I'm still on a steep learning curve with AS so pardon me if I am off-track in my understanding. I have set up the AS Gallery to store files in Amazon S3, and it's working fine. My testing seems to indicate, though, that other file uploads (i.e. Documents) are not stored in S3, which is consistent with the messaging on the AS General Settings page, which states: "Gallery Storage Options - Select the default storage location for photos that are upload to albums in profiles and groups." (Nothing is said about document files.)

Do I understand correctly that Amazon S3 storage is currently implemented for Gallery storage and not document files?

If I am correct, then I wonder it would make sense to extend the capability of AS to store other "document files" in S3? Right now, I'm hesitant to give users the ability to upload documents if I have to store them on my server, as this could cause a storage issue pretty quickly (we have tens of thousands of users).

    Thoughts?

I guess it would help of someone could confirm whether or not my understanding is correct, that Amazon S3 is implemented only for albums and not other kinds of files?

We do plan to add more support for Amazon S3 in the future, but nothing has been clearly defined at this time.

No. Those files will remain and continue to be served from the original location.
