My profile is set with visibility to Everyone and i have an album set the same way, so why would a link to the album's page result in a request to login? And for that matter, why would a link to my profile result in the same request?

Since Active Social doesn't enforce security with a prompt to login, I would say that your page or module permissions are not setup to allow for everyone to access.

ok, indeed, my settings were too tight. I correct that. It seems that Safari will do the following: if i am looking directly at a photo, and comment on it etc, then copy the url and paste it back into an unlogged into my AS site, the rendering strips off the required integer at the end and again takes me back to the main album page.
So, this: MySite/Profile/tabid/89/asuid/13/showtab/photos/Default.aspx#showtab=photos&asview=asimage¶ms=219
turns into: So, this: MySite/Profile/tabid/89/asuid/13/showtab/photos/Default.aspx#showtab=photos&asview=asimage¶ms=
Firefox seems a bit better, getting to pictures, but no comments are shown and the next/prior buttons mean nothing as there is no indexing. Chrome fairs no better.
Surely this sort of use-case was tested? I cannot post any links to albums i create because of this, it just feels too unfinished. Perhaps i am not seeing how to properly set this up?
