If i programmatically update the AS status from another module and have the twitter integration turned on, will the update be sent to twitter as well? I don't think so but was hoping it was done by trigger or some sort of polling mechanism. If not, you have a suggestion on how I can do this?

How are you programatically updating the status? If you use the API it should send to twitter if enabled.

just an insert into the journal table, no API calls. I will look into that though! Thanks for the reply will!

Is there documentation for the API?  I would like to be able to post status info to a group programatically from another program I wrote.  I guess I can also do an insert to the Journal table to accomplish this, but I'm not sure if there are any negative implications to using this method.  Thanks.

Writing to the Journal table seems to be working fine.  I haven't seen any negative effects as of yet.
