When we import a role into a group, everyone gets a 'You are now a member of [GROUP]' email. How do I turn that off?

We are wondering about the same, would be great to turn off this automated email notifications when importing members into a group.

I would also like to disable the "Group Member Accepted" email, as I'm in the process of rebuilding an existing site and these messages are only confusing the recipients at this point. This organization has approx 500 members, but the new site has not been officially announced. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
