    • Active Social Version: 1.8.3
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.0
I'm in the process of configuring ActiveSocial. I'm interested in integrating it with digArticle, which I am also configuring for the first time.

I've posted this on the dignuke.com site but haven't yet received a reply, so I thought that maybe someone here has done this same integration and can help me.

In digArticle main module, I have a question about the 3rd Party section. Right after the checkbox "Post to Active Social," there are boxes for:

    New Article Key

    New Comment Key

    Vote Article Up Key

    Vote Article Down Key

    Vote Comment Up Key

    Vote Comment Down Key

These don't appear to be covered in the manual version 2.1.0. Is there a more current manual that covers this aspect, is there a resource on this or the dignuke.com website somewhere that addresses this, or can an explanation be provided in this thread?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Thanks Will for moving this to the appropriate forum.

In addition to the above question, I have another question re integration: I have vanity URLs turned on in ActiveSocial. In an instance of digArticle, in settings, I have this URL for Author Avatar: http://[mysite]/desktopmodules/activesocial/profilepic.ashx?uid=[author:user:id]&h=120&w=120 and for Comment Avatar: http://[mysite]/desktopmodules/activesocial/profilepic.ashx?uid=[com:user:id]&h=120&w=120

Is this the correct syntax for the use of ActiveSocial vanity URLs? The reason I ask is this: The article summary shows the ActiveSocial avatar, but when I click to detail view (same module, which is the main digArticle module), in the grey box to the right (default articles template), there is a rather alarming green bug avatar rather than the author's avatar. How can I correct this?

    Thanks,

    Steve

I moved the topic here so hopefully someone else that has worked with digArticle will be able to provide some assistance.

I have this URL for Author Avatar: http://[mysite]/desktopmodules/activesocial/profilepic.ashx?uid=[author:user:id]&h=120&w=120 and for Comment Avatar: http://[mysite]/desktopmodules/activesocial/profilepic.ashx?uid=[com:user:id]&h=120&w=120

    Yes, that looks correct.

    I have another integration question:

In digArticle, in the Authors and Users section of setup, I select Profile to Custom URL, and use the following relative URL:/Default.aspx?tabid=339&id=[author:user:id]

It works great as long as in ActiveSocial I do not turn on Vanity URLs. But I want to use Vanity URLs, which causes the following behavior:

    1. When linking from digArticle to a profile page, the digArticle Dashboard module properly displays the list of articles (picking up on the variable "id"). This is good.

    2. But when clicking into the author's profile page some other way (such as by typing in the vanity URL into the browser address), Dashboard doesn't see the parameter (since it's not in the URL) and therefore does not display the author's articles. This is bad.

How can I get articles to show in "2" above?

    Thanks,
    Steve
