I'm very excited about the solution on how to integrate AS Avatars into SunBlogNuke and was hoping there was also an integration solution for adding SunBlogNuke into the AS Tabs? Namely to filter the blogs on the author, but use the custom query string of asuid. If anyone has figured this out, that would be awesome!

I'm only relatively new to AS. However I would say that ActiveSocial with the active:moduleloader could probably do it, in combination with the SunBlogNuke content slider widget.

If I get a chance sometime I might try it out.

Just to keep the Active Social community in the loop. It sounds like SunBlogNuke will be adding author filtering by query string to its solution (which is what is required for integration into the AS tabs). I'm not sure the timeline but I'm hoping for soon.

It looks like Baldwin has committed to adding it so I'd expect it reasonable soon, which is awesome.

I worked out how to integrated UVG to tabs (v. easy!), I reckon once SBN has the capability there should be HOWTO's for both :-)

    Lee,

We run SUnblog as well. I have not heard of the Avatar integration. Is there a selection for the AS avatars in a new release of Sunblog?

    Hi Dennis,

I have not played too much with it yet. Matt has some excellent instructions here though:

If you learn more that will help us as well, please post.

Ok, this is very cool. Baldwin has just released the updated version with the needed functionality.

I've updated our website with it, and integrated to our profile tabs.

    You can see at http://www.autechheads.com/users/ma...wtab=blogs

I'll post a how to in the morning! :-D

This is great! Does Baldwin want some code to update the journal for new blog posting as well? That would probably finish off the integration and give him some marketing boost over his competitors too :)

@matt, is the SunBlogNuke fully integrated into AS with publishing to the Journal? I see that they just released a new version today but I don't see any mention of this capability.

    Hey Cliff,

Yes, that was done with v3.8. I've fed back into their development for a couple of things and v4.0 is working very well.

I've consolidated all the SBN integration notes, including the configuration for AS journal, into a single post: http://www.autechheads.com/blogs/en...unblognuke

In addition, you can see the "created an article" links in our site's journal: http://www.autechheads.com/social

Only major module left for us to integrate with the journal is Invenmanager Events, which I understand is in progress - then we'll be rocking! :-)

    Cheers,

    Matt

Thanks Matt. That is a great help.

I looked at your Social page and did not see any recent blog posts in the Journal. But I noticed that I might need to go back into Oct for blog posts. So that made me wonder if the left side of the journal should include a filter for Blog Posts. I know on my site I see a filter for Articles after integrating Ventrian News Articles into my site. Any thoughts?

There are recent posts, but of course you can hit the Articles filter (http://www.autechheads.com/social/asjf/12) as this is the 'type' that SBN assumes.

It would be trivial to create a new type for blog posts, though, and I am pretty sure this would work.

Active Social's API security seems to work on the basis of you choosing which 'type' the entry is. So I could add SunBlogNuke to the forum topics type if I so chose, or have multiple SBN instances with different types (which is a configuration I'm considering). Articles works well enough at present, but Will has made it very flexible.
