First, my apologies if this is a stupid question, but I haven't been working on the AS portion of my site much lately. If I want to add the "mini login" (added to AS 1.3 ?), and I am running AS 1.7.1, the steps appear to be that I have to:
    1. Using the AS control panel design tools, copy the MiniLogin template to my portal templates
    2. Copy the content of that new template to the clipboard
    3. Using the AS control panel design tools, Create a new custom view
    4. Paste the clipboard copied text into the newly created view
    5. Add an AS module instance to my page and set it to display 'CustomView-MiniLogin'

    Is that the correct process?
Perhaps I'm confused between templates and custom views?

Yes, and it does sound like those are the correct steps.
