I have several public groups that will be creating events and I'd like to put an aggregate list of upcoming events on our home page.

Is this possible and if so, is it documented anywhere yet?

    Thanks!

This is possible, but currently it would only show events from groups where the user is a member.  I don't want to post an example just yet because I'm working on an enhancement that would make this much easier.

Thanks Will. I'm not in any hurry for this, but it's functionality that would be really useful.

At some point in time will we have the option to list upcoming events for all public groups regardless of membership? Ultimately, that's what I need.

    Thanks Again,

    Hi Will -

I'm in a bit of a hurry for this. Our customers are used to seeing a list of events they can join, using Smart-Thinker tools, and when I was testing things I was logging in as the global group manager so I thought the summary showed all site activity. Now I just found out the list is empty for most people.

BTW - love the tools - great job.

Just wondering if you could send me a custom view example that would show upcoming events? Or otherwise perhaps a way to cause the Summary list to show items from at least public groups the member hasn't joined?

Thanks a bunch! My customers are complaining a bit because of my oversight...

Bump - This feature is the difference between the event system in AS being really useful vs not very useful at all for our site.

I really hope that this is still in the works.

I'd also like to know what is planned for AS Events. Due to timing, I'm thinking I will have to enhance the core DNN events module in order to list the events the way I'd like and to have sub-events.

    I.e.
    Weekend Event 12/5/2010 - 12/7/2010
    Sub Event 1 Sat 8am
    Sub Event 2 Sat 3pm
    Sub Event 3 Sun 8am

I have yet to implement the event feature and am investigating it. What I would like to see is a site-wide listing of events on the front page, across groups. I am not seeing that on the activesocial.com site. If you look at that front page I would want to have an 'Events' tab added to top level and then perhaps you could post feeds into a module (like What's New) for example under the the 'All Items' column on the left.

    thanks,
