    Hi Everyone,

Today I installed a second instance of the AF module in my portal. The first portal has the Friendly URLs enabled and this is working without any problem. The problem is that with the friendly urls enabled I cannot enter any of the forums. The minute I turn off the Friendly URL option in the configuration panel of the second instance I can get in the forums (and make postings).

Could this be related to the fact I have a second instance of Active Forums? Any suggestions?

    Running AF435/AS192 on DNN562.
    Regards,
    Marc

I have entered this request as a ticket for the AM/DNN people and I was answered that I should try to hide my new forum group with jQuery and have it shown through the forum viewer on the second page. This is currently the only way to have vanity urls for the forum on a second page. A second forum instance is a no go when you require vanity urls.

Now here is my new challenge. Where do I have to place the jQuery code to hide the forum-group?

    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Marc

    Hi Everyone,

It turned out to be rather easy to implement a second instance of AF with vanity URLs turned on. When you have installed the second instance, on a different page in your portal, all you have to do is enable the vanity urls in the control panel and change the base path right after that. This base path must be different from the base path in your first AF instance.

Many thanks to the Ben & Will for this neat solution.

    Regards,
    Marc
