    • Active Forums Version: 4.3.3
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.1
    I just wanted to confirm if anyone has rolled out the 5.6.1 upgrade on DNN to see if there were any issues in conducting the upgrade with AM solutions.

    I attempted to do an upgrade last night but experienced difficulties (which were most likely not due to Active Modules).  My provider mentioned prior to the upgrade that URL rewriters gave some issues to 5.6.1 upgrades...

    So I figured I'd ask.

    We upgraded to 5.6.1 and didn't have any issues with URL rewriters. I did run into an issue due to permissions not being correct on our install, but after that was corrected the upgrade went through just fine.

    I upgraded our site from 5.6.0 to 5.6.1 last week and everything went smoothly. We don't use any URL re-writers (other than what's built in to DNN) and we aren't using vanity URLs in AS/AF, so I can't speak to potential issues with those. I did, however, have to fix the SiteAnalytics.config file, so the Google Analytics script works correctly, which is something that was supposedly fixed in 5.6.1.

    You're kidding.
    That's a big draw for me right now.

    @Will
    Thanks for the heads up.  I'll schedule an upgrade with my providers.
    Mind letting me know what the fix was so I can prep "just in case"?
    Thanks

    After upgrading, I was getting a script error and had to add single quotes around the [ TRACKING_ID ] (<-- spaces added for forum post) in line 13 of SiteAnalytics.config. However, I just downloaded the install and upgrade versions of DNN 5.6.1 and it looks like they have it correct in SiteAnalytics.config. Perhaps my upgrade didn't correctly overwrite that file.

    In any case, it wasn't a big deal and was easy to fix. I would just give it a shot with an upgrade (on a test site) and fix it if it's needed.

    FWIW, we recently moved our site from one hosting provider to another and I found Evotiva DNNBackup to be invaluable. I got very familiar with it and I'm now able to make a backup of our live site and then restore it locally to do testing for things like upgrades, new modules, skin tweaks, etc. It also allowed me to move our site between hosting providers without relying on our old hosting provider to create a SQL backup for us.

    I need this.

    Thanks so much for the recommendation.
