Instead of a non functioning delete button that we had before, there just isn't a delete button. Selecting a List Data type doesn't work as no lists are shown.

Once you re-order the properties via drag n drop you can no longer edit them until you reload the page.

I revised the subject of your post because the feature does work.

The delete button was removed until we decide how best to handle removing a property. We want to provide a couple options for removing properties and will do so in the next feature release. In the meantime, just mark them as hidden or figure out what you want for properties before you create them

Lists will work once you create a list for it to use. Go to http://portallists.codeplex.com and get the module so you manage portal specific lists.

I can't reproduce the issue you are having with reordering, but sounds like you have workaround already.

Hmm.. would have been nice to know about this in advance.. there doesn't seem to be any doco on this feature at all.. I had no idea this other module was required. Perhaps this feature would have been better left till it was finished.

The only thing we should have done is made sure it was fully documented before general release. That would help you understand how to use it.

Answers like this do little to instil confidence in a product. Clearly you have a vested client who is trying to make good use of your product and you reward that vested interest with responses like this? Honestly, sometimes i just shake my head. i am sure this will be removed, but it is honest feedback, of the type that can only help in the long run. Sometimes it might be best to have an intermediary respond, a person who can taper and think about impact of words before posting.

In this case: why not explain HOW to use the required extra module? Why not explain the need for it? Why not take a moment to help us? Here i am a few months later likely have to duplicate all the the effort of other client of your's because a reasonable and thought out reply was not rendered.

do we need to install this list management tool on each portal, or do we do it host level? Why does only DataType show in the Topic Property edit windows for Choose List?

To help others: create a new page under Admin, call it PortalList. Add the PortalList module to that page. Note that DataType is the only list shown at first usage, even though there are many others listed under Host Lists, no clue why. Add your list as required, and it should appear in the Topic Property page's Choose List dropdown.

I can answer the question about the PortalLists module based on my exprience using it. You install it at the Host, like any other module. You then have to add the module to a page in each portal in which you wish to manage portal level lists. Make sure the page on which you add the module is only visible to administrators. I added a Portal Lists page as a peer of the pages under Admin and assigned it the icon_lists_16px.gif icon so it looks the same in the Admin menu as the Lists page looks in the Host menu.

The only issue I've encountered is an error about inserting duplicate keys when you save the first list you create. This has something to do with the portal aliases and if I just go back to the page, everything works fine after that.
