I have a new installation of Active Forum (v4.3.6) and am having difficulty setting up the mail connector. The address of my site is http://www.XYZ.org/lvp/home.aspx however I am entering http://www.XYZ.org as the site address. E-mail address is meetings@ABC.net which I have entered in both the mail connector and the forum setup. POP3 username is also meetings@ABC.net. POP password is the proper password. POP3 server is mail.ABC.net. I have tested these e-mail settings in Outlook and they are the proper settings.

When I click the test mail server connection button I get the 'working' animation on the button and then an error with a green check mark "Connection failed".

Can you give me any clues about what is causing this?

Are you getting any errors in the Admin > event viewer?

No, there are no errors appearing in the Event Log. There is a message that appears for about 2 seconds in the header of the page that says "connection failed:" The message is cut off on the right and disappears quickly so I cannot see what the rest of the message is.

I am having the same Connection Failed issue, and there is nothing in the Admin Event Viewer. I am trying to set up with a google apps account, so the PO3 Username is the full email address, POP3 Password is the account password, and POP3 Server is pop.gmail.com. I am pretty sure that is all correct...

Make sure you have the correct port entered after the mail server address. pop.gmail.com:995
