You are using a URL rewriter that is causing the problem. Exclude Active Forums and Active Social from the URL rewriter. |

I can relate to the issue. Even with excluding AS from URL Master, we'll get exceptions. Partly that Googlebot/MSNBot like to throw random junk in to test your error code handling etc, if AS is in the custom 404 error handler, it'll cop it every time. |

This is from the website where I do not use URLMaster. Any advice? Thanks.

Based upon the URL in that second error log, you are using URL Master on that site. |

I used to use URLMaster on the second website but removed it because I wanted to use AS Vanity urls. If what you are saying is true then the URLMaster did not uninstall properly or something else is going on and I have no idea what. I know that I am getting thousands of System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists errors and I have no idea how or what I need to do to get rid of these f'ers. |

Last error in your last post can probably be disregarded. cb.ashx is a keepalive/message notification script which is only useful for logged in users. In terms of the /404.aspx, that too is evidence you're running URL Master with custom 404 handling setup. It's worth remembering that URL Master operates at a host, rather than portal level. If you did fully uninstall it, you shouldn't get Pageblaster-style friendly URLs anymore. I assume you did the pre-uninstall process? Note that there's no reason you can't use AS vanity URLs with PB (I do) .. AS is using a wholly virtual URL which can be managed by the 404.aspx method, while PB deals with 'real' URLs. |

heh I said Pageblaster at one stage, meaning URL master.. whoops. Anyway, to offer more specific help on AS with URL Master, here's the exclusions you absolutely want/need: Add to the start of Any Url matching this Regex expression will not be rewritten and processed by DotNetNuke. (doNotRewriteRegex): /Groups/|/Users/| Add to the start of Do not generate a friendly url for any path matching this regex pattern (noFriendlyUrlRegex) : /Social/Groups/tabid/(\w+)/as(.+)|/Social/Groups/tabid/(\w+)/ctl/(.+) NOTE: Above paths should be modified to suit your own site. The first set is the AS vanity URL paths. The second is the path to my Groups pages. I do not recommend doing this if you aren't able to (at minimum) muddle your way through a regular expression. Also, I don't advise seeking support from Active Social on this config since I don't think it'd be fair to expect them to support it. Their vanity URL solution works just fine. |
