    • Active Forums Version: 3.7
    • DotNetNuke Version: 4.9.5
I am moved a site to a new server and now can't activate the forums. The new server in a bit-for-bit transfer including matching machine keys. It is on Server 2008 vs 2003 and using the integrated pipeline.

However, the Active Forums module is lock in unlicensed mode. Beth has reset the serial but entering it only produces this in the event log:

    Method: System.Threading.Thread.AbortInternal
    StackTrace:
Message: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted. at System.Threading.Thread.AbortInternal() at System.Threading.Thread.Abort(Object stateInfo) at System.Web.HttpResponse.End() at System.Web.HttpResponse.Redirect(String url, Boolean endResponse) at System.Web.HttpResponse.Redirect(String url) at Active.Modules.Forums.NTForums.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.UserControl.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings)

I'm not sure if Active Forums 3.7 is going to work running under integrated pipeline mode. I understand we reset your license for you already, but are you saying you can't even get to the control panel? I'm really not sure how much support we can provide to troubleshoot that version.

I can get to the control panel but it asks for a serial to validate. Once I enter it, the pages refreshes and nothing changes.

I will switch back to classic and see if that moves things forward.

    No help.

What would cause the app to be invalid? The site is a complete copy of a working version.

You moved to a new server which changed the IIS configuration. This caused the product to become deactivated. Check you permissions on the site again. Make sure the IIS account has full control of the /DesktopModules/NTForums directory.

Finally got this resolved but it entailed numerous iterative DNN upgrades due to an issue with URL Master trigger attached to the modules table.

I now have the forums activated and running on DNN 5.6 which I hope will stay together long enough for the client to decide to buy an upgrade.
