Hi I have this weird problem. I have set up a mail connector to allow entries to be posted to the forum via emails. This works for some people, while not for others. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? I have one email address in particular that I know sent an email to the mail connector, the email is in the specified mail connector email's inbox and it gets deleted after processing, but the email does not appear in the forum. Ideas? |

Make sure the user with that email address doesn't have multiple accounts with same email address. Also look in the desktopmodules/activeforums/mc directory for a blacklist file. Make sure the user hasn't been added to the blacklist. |

I made sure that the email is only appearing in one account. There's also no blacklist file in the folder. We tried it again, and nothing happened. The email is sent to the mail connector's email inbox, the email got to the mail connector's email inbox, it disappears, but nothing is posted on the forum. Ideas on how else to troubleshoot? |

no, the forum is not moderated. I'm not sure why it is not working for one email address and works for another. So it is not that it doesn't work at all, it doesn't work for some email addresses. Any ideas on how to track this down? |

Is the account a host account? Can the account make posts in the desired forum the usual way? |

The account in question is NOT a host account. And I tried going into DNN and posting a topic and that works correctly.
When I send the email to the mail connector from the offending email address, I have checked and confirmed that the email goes to the mail connector account; the schedule runs and deletes the email off; but the post never made it to the forum. The schedule log just says "Check messages complete."
I have no idea what to do next. Any other suggestions on why THIS particular email address can't be used?

You have enterprise support. I would suggest creating a help desk ticket so we can take a closer look. Also, please provide the email address and that is having this problem. http://www.activemodules.com/Commun...pdesk.aspx |

Hi Again, back to the mail connector. If I send an email with an attachment to the mail connector, would the attachment show up as an attachment in the forum? Right now when I add an attachment, the mail connector doesn't work at all (ie. the message is not posted to the forum). Is this correct? |

Any response to my previous question about sending an attachment to the forum via mail connector? Will the attachment in the email show up as an attachment to the forum topic? |

Also, for the benefit of anyone that finds this topic. The original question asked in this topic was resolved via the help desk. Just to reiterate, you can't use host accounts with the mail connector and you also can't have multiple users with the same email address. |
