    Hi,

I'm experiencing an error with the lite edition of Active Forums.
The forum is working perfect, however, after a period of idle time on the main Forum page, a Javascript alert pops up.

I've established that this error is being raised in json2009.min.js on the very last line of code (I double checked this by changing JSON.parse - and my change was reflected in the error message that I see).

One thing I suspect might be relevant is that we are using Active Directory authentication, so the user names contain a backslash. when I program Javascript I would usually escape that backslash - which doesn't seem to have been done here.

I've tried a few fixes but so far I've had no luck. If anyone has a steer here, it will be much appreciated.

I'm hoping to buy the commercial version of Active Forums as we do need more Forums - but there's no way I can get authorisation from those holding the purse strings while there is a highly visible bug on the free version.

I've attached a screenshot, and if anyone has any ideas, or knows the cause of this error I would love to hear from you.

    kind regards,
    James Ashton

I wil have to stop using Active Forum if this bug doesn't have a solution - as I have experienced several users sending screenshots - so it's a bit of a nightmare. The error occurs because a 'Syntax' error is being throw. I suspect it is related to our usernames having a backslash because of windows authentication.

I do not see the screen shot. Can you give me the full error message?

You can disable the users online by going to Control Panel > Settings > Main Features > Show Users Online: No
