    • Active Forums Version: 4.3.4
    • DotNetNuke Version: 5.6.1
We just purchased on Feb 14, 2011 and upgraded our site, napha.org (Discussions link).

    A few things:

    1. It used to always display usernames, now it displays a variety of names - one example is the Administrator Account - look at the last postings in the first group. The admin account is set as (user:admin, displayname: admin1, firstname:adminfirst, lastname:adminlast). It shows "Administrator Account" there, other places shows admin1, and still others show admin.
    2. The columns are off for the last posts to the right now (seems like several others have the same issue). The templates haven't been changed (except for trying to change tags for #1 above, but reverted back to the way they are). Some columns are wider, others narrower.
    3. We tried using a variety of tags to change the names being displayed - many of them don't seem to work - plus there are others in the templates that aren't documented.
    4. Under settings - User Display mode doesn't seem to work at all - at least for last postings. What's the tag to show this in the templates?

I would have posted a help desk ticket - but your site won't let me now like before. Plus your support@activeforums.com email address bounces.

My guess is that the old templates were retained - they had a date of 11/11/09 - and may have changed in the upgrade, but were never overwritten.

    I need to find out:

    a) How to fix #1,#2 above.
    b) Possibly revert to default templates?

    Thanks!

Make sure that the User Display Mode is set to Username on the settings page of the control panel. You can also go to DNN Admin > User Accounts > User Settings > Display Name Format and enter: [USERNAME]

Looking at your discussions page, I only see on forum group, this is probably because I am not logged in. In another recent topic I suggested changing the [LASTPOSTSUBJECT:XX] token to [LASTPOSTSUBJECT:25] (the XX is most likely 50 in your template). To accomplish this, go to the Control Panel > Templates > ForumView. Edit the template then save the changes. It look like you have a corrupt character showing in your template as well, you can find it and delete it in the same template. It will probably appear as a square.

To use the default templates (Not the ones you are editing in the control panel), go to the Settings page of the control panel and change the Design and Layout > Template to Default.
