I am having an issue with ActiveForums 4.2.7. I have auto-subscribe turned on for all forums and I have also tried manually subscribing to forums. No matter what I do it always seems I only receive the email notifications about new topics when I am a super user.

I set up two users with different e-mail addresses. One is a super user and one is not, and they are both subscribed to the forum. The Super user always receives the e-mail notification and the non-super user does not. I can swap their roles and the behavior is consistent -- the non-super user never receives the notification email.

Is this a bug or some configuration setting that I am missing? I read through the Admin Guide and searched this forum but have found nothing pertinent.

Very unlikely that it is a bug. Make sure your permissions for "Subscribe" are configured properly. For proper testing, I would also make sure that the accounts have different email address from different domains. It could also be that your smtp server is only allowing email to be sent to the email domain that is associated with your host account.

The auto-subscribe role is set to Registered Users. Is that the permissions you are referring to? Or is there another set of permissions that I have overlooked.

I also have all the subscription options checked (Disabled, Instant, Daily Digest, Weekly Digest)

Interestingly enough I do not have Register users listed as one of the Roles/Users.

Then you will need to add it and make sure it has the proper permissions.

Okay, please forgive my ignorance. I found how to add the role via the group settings, since I have the option to inherit group settings enabled.

I have added subscribe permission for Registered Users but am still not receiving emails for the non-super users. Is there anything else that I can check to allow all users to receive emails if they are subscribed?

Have you set the email templates in the forum settings? If you have, make sure the templates are indeed there. Check the MC folder (via ftp) to make sure that the email you are testing is not blocked. Delete the flooding.txt file.

I am using the latest AS/AF/DNN available.
    Thanks.

    John,
You have Active Forums Enterprise. Create a support ticket and provide host access so we can take a look at your settings for you.
