I was trying to upgrade AF first before AS.

The AF installation went successfully with no error.

Then I went to the AF control panel to do the update. Right after I hit the update button I got a pop up "An error has occurred". I clicked ok. Then the update spinning graphic started spinning. I thought maybe I can just ignore that error message. So I waited. But no, it was spinning forever ( nearly 10mins with only a few sample posts). I tested this on both IE and Firefox. Same.

    What could be wrong? Thanks.

Your installation must have failed. Try installing again. Any errors in the event log?

The installation was successful. No error message. I checked the log it was good. The only thing I noticed from the log is that right after the installation therewas an " Application Started" log.

Thank you very much for solving the issue. (It was a 3rd party module that caused the problem.)
