    Will,

When registering a user on my site I noticed that the announcements section in the forum was not accessible by that user. The announcement forums is inheriting the security settings from the forum group. After deselecting and selecting the inherit for that forum the forum was accessible again.

I don't see any other forums that have a similar setup so I can't test this anymore on my live website. Can't reproduce it but perhaps someone else comes accross this aswell.

    Will,

I have encountered it on more places in the forum. The first screenshot is before I disable the inheriting and the second one is after I enable the inheret section.

Hope this is more helpfull than the previous posting .

    What exactly is the problem?
The first screenshot should be the same as the from which it is inheriting. When you un-check inherit it will reset the permissions. Are you saying the permissions displayed while inherit is selected do not match what you have specified for the group?

    Will,

Sorry for the confusion. I checked in my forum group and noticed that the settings in the first attachment were actually correct. These were also present in my forum settings but after I disabled and enabled the inheriting the forum security I got the security settings as shown in the second attachment.

Are you saying the permissions displayed while inherit is selected do not match what you have specified for the group?

This is indeed what is happening.
