Getting Started
Please use this guide to install and configure the Active Forums module. Begin by downloading the package from the downloads section of our website. Log into your site as host and then follow the instructions below.

Navigate to the Module Definitions page under the host menu.

Click "Install Module".

Click the Browse button and then search for the install package on your filesystem.

Click "Next" to begin the installation process.

You will need to click next a few more times. When you get to the page that asks you to accept the license, click the box. Clicking Next again will begin the automated installation process.

Scroll through the report and make sure there are no red SQL errors. If everything looks good, Click Return. If you do get a SQL error, please create a help desk ticket and send us the full error message with the following information: Version of DNN, Active Forums Version, SQL Server Version and SQL Server database compatibility level.

Navigate to the page where you wish to add the Forums module. Select Active Forums from the dropdown list at the top of the page.

Click "Add Module to Page" when you have selected a pane.

You will now see the module on the page. Read the brief introduction and then click the Continue button to access the control panel.

The first page you will see is the Dashboard. It provides you with a quick heads up view of the forums.

Click the blue question mark icon to view the About page.

Enter your serial number into the text box and click Activate! If you recieve an error during activation, please create a help desk ticket with the serial number, invoice number and the error message.

The forums module is fully functional at this point. Clicking the Exit buton will take you to the Forums view.
You may wish to create additional forums and configure the rest of the settings. You can find more information about each setting in the documentation.
